Springly Print
This is a new print pattern, now waiting for a silk swatch sample to come in, if it's good, this will be made into scarves for Spring 2011.

I've spent many years playing with mathematical visualization software to make shapes like this spin and morph, in all that time, I never built one in real life. This is the first analog one! Inspired by a traditional Scandinavian straw ornaments structure, I'll be making departures from that. Following this path for a while.
Suri Alpaca yarn and plastic straws.Right on time, courtesy of Mr. February. ugh....weather fatique. need sunshine...embroidery on 100% cotton.
Purely decorative, which I never do! What a waste of yarn! but trying to go where I never go this month {then come running back in horror}. A cornucopia of techniques with no discernible purpose. sigh. Perhaps it's a color story. Yeah. A color story.
Ok, so I missed the very first day yesterday...hum. I will start this project today then with another colorway sample for the Aventi, pounded out last night after trade showing it all day...100% baby alpaca with Peruvian wool accents, handknit. Todays (2nd) TAD posted tonight, heading onto the studio shortly.
Excited about this years Thing-A-Day, for some reason unfathomable to me it makes me generally super, incredibly inspired. Last year I lasted only a week before stopping to do real work, this year, going to try to make it through the whole month! Starts February 1st.
Below: the "Aventi", a basic prototype of some of what I want to explore this month, adding "vents" where you want width in your knitting.
An original lace stitch, unbalanced, so it biases naturally. Called Luna Lace, I'm going to develop this stitch over the course of the month. This version will be considered the "base".
For Thing-a-Day 2010.
